Environmental Performance Report 2023. The good performance of the actions, improvements and objectives of the Gestair Group's EMS and IMS

The Gestair Group's commitment to the environment has been integrated into its daily activities, implementing objectives and specific improvement actions in order to reduce the negative impact of its activity on the most significant environmental aspects.

During 2023, as a result of the Environmental Management System implemented in the group's companies, we highlight the results of savings in the consumption of natural resources and the improvement of environmental management. On the other hand, the Horizon Program, launched by Gestair as a commitment to action and responsibility in the face of climate change, offsets emissions from flights marketed and operated by the company. During this period, the company has offset a total of 20,280 tons of CO2. Likewise, in 2023, the first flight operated by the company with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) was carried out, which will allow, from 2024, to incorporate it in all flights marketed by Gestair.

Other actions implemented by the company in 2023 that we can highlight are: the development of an electronic tool for the management and storage of Work Orders for online maintenance that has been implemented in its main bases and that will allow 100% elimination of the use of paper; the replacement of industrial vehicles by more efficient ones with C and ECO label and the improvement in the storage process of polluting or hazardous products.

On the other hand, the Group's company specialized in aeronautical maintenance, Gestair MRO, which has its facilities in Madrid-Barajas Airport with more than 23,000 m2 of surface area, has reduced gas consumption by 70% with respect to the year 2022 thanks to the use of heating by zoning the work areas, 4% of vehicle fuel by optimizing the responsible use of vehicles and the change to more efficient vehicles and a 38% reduction in the consumption of confidential paper with respect to the year 2022 by applying control measures in the printing of documentation.

The Gestair Group is already working to continue advancing in these and new projects that represent progress towards a more sustainable horizon and a commitment to mitigating the consequences of climate change.
