By integrating concrete measures to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, the Gestair Group reaffirms its commitment to the environment in 2024. The performance of our Environmental System has resulted in significant savings in the consumption of natural resources and an improvement in environmental management.
Particular emphasis should be placed on the evolution of the Horizon Programme, through which the company has offset 17,327.79 tn of CO2 out of a total of 28,051.71 tn emitted in 2024. In addition, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), obtained from advanced biofuel plants using organic waste, has been utilised in the company’s commercial fleet flights.
In the transition to the full use of electronic media, one of the initiatives implemented is the development of internal software that will enable the complete elimination of paper usage in the processes of requesting, executing and certifying maintenance Work Orders online and CAMO.
The aeronautical maintenance division, Gestair MRO, has worked to achieve a significant reduction in various types of waste. Notably, there has been a 74% reduction in oil filter waste and a 71% reduction in masking paper. Fuel consumption for vehicles has also been optimised, with a 22% reduction, and paper and cardboard waste has been reduced by 25%.
As an environmental indicator, the Gestair Group has been measuring its carbon footprint since 2021, which reflects the total greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted both directly and indirectly by the organisation's activities. The Group annually implements measures to reduce these emissions. In 2024, there was a 6% reduction in the Group’s carbon footprint compared to the previous year.
The Gestair Group continues to strive towards advancing sustainable projects and contributing to the mitigation of climate change.
Gestair Group, a leader in Spain and a European benchmark in private aviation, has three core business areas: Gestair Aviation, Gestair MRO and Gestair Aeroplanning, offering a comprehensive 360º service in corporate aviation.
