Environmental Performance 2025: Gestair Group Reinforces Its Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability in aviation is no longer just a long-term goal. Today, it is part of the day-to-day operations of companies committed to more efficient and responsible operations aligned with the environmental challenges of the sector. Throughout 2025, Gestair Group continued strengthening this commitment through different initiatives focused on reducing resource consumption, improving environmental management and lowering emissions associated with its operations.

One of the most notable achievements of the year was the reduction in the consumption of natural resources across different areas of the company. At the Anabel Segura offices, electricity consumption decreased by 11%, mainly driven by the use of natural light and the efficiency of the LEED Gold certified building. In addition, the Barcelona offices achieved a 13% reduction in water consumption, while paper usage continued to decrease thanks to the progressive digitalisation of internal processes.

Digital transformation continues to be one of the key pillars of the Group’s environmental strategy. Among the initiatives implemented during 2025 was the development of an electronic tool for the management and storage of maintenance Work Orders in line maintenance operations in Madrid and Barcelona. Once fully implemented, this system will enable the near-complete elimination of paper usage in these processes, while also reducing emissions associated with the physical transport of documentation.

Improvements were also particularly visible within Gestair MRO, where significant reductions in consumption and emissions were achieved thanks to resource optimisation and increased operational awareness. Among the most relevant results were a 42% reduction in water consumption, a 68% decrease in paper consumption and a 62% reduction in vehicle fuel consumption through fleet optimisation and the use of more efficient vehicles.

Another fundamental pillar of Gestair’s sustainability roadmap continues to be the reduction and offsetting of CO₂ emissions. Through the Horizon Programme, the Group offset nearly 18,000 tonnes of CO₂ associated with flights marketed and operated during 2025. In addition, the company reinforced its commitment to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and reached a consumption of 349 m³ of SAF during 2025, almost doubling the volume recorded the previous year and preventing the emission of approximately 805 tonnes of CO₂ into the atmosphere.

Training and environmental culture also continued to play an essential role within the organisation. Training programmes related to ISO 14001, climate change, safe handling of chemical products and advanced waste management achieved high levels of compliance across different work teams. Both internal and external audits positively highlighted the Group’s environmental management and regulatory compliance.

The evolution of these indicators reflects how operational efficiency, innovation and sustainability can progress together within an industry as demanding as aviation. Through concrete measures and a strategy based on continuous improvement, Gestair Group continues advancing towards more responsible aviation and maintenance activities committed to mitigating the consequences of climate change and contributing to a more sustainable future.
